Welcome to our monthly spotlight.
This month, we’re taking a look at Standard 5: People Management from the Thriving at Work Framework.
Standard 5 focuses on the impact that people managers can have on the wider workplace ecosystem, and requires us to think about how we support and equip those in this vital role. This standard can be met through:
|
- Providing training for people managers on the topic of mental wellbeing.
- Ensuring managers have the guidance, resources and tools that they need to create psychologically safe teams.
- Encouraging managers to have wellbeing conversations, role model healthy behaviours, and lead by example.
- Including mental wellbeing as a key facet in job descriptions and performance reviews.

|
- 'People Managers - Building Mentally Healthy Teams' Training: Our training equips managers with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to have healthy conversations and create healthy teams, so that they can actively contribute to a psychologically safe work environment.
- Top tips for managers: our partners at CMHA HK have created this short toolkit on ways to build psychologically safe teams.
